What has Happened to our Government

Along the gulf coast of Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana there are over 12,000+ unemployed individuals who are legal citizens of this country. Many of these unemployed people have been former military personnel that served this country to keep all citizens safe and have the ability to practice the freedoms we so much enjoy. Others became unemployed because of the drop in residential and commercial construction, which affected many suppliers of the construction industry also had to layoff employees, and now being faced with the disaster of the oil spill.

Many if not all of these 12,000+ unemployed people received a letter stating their unemployment compensation ran out as of June 05, 2010. Why? Because those who were voted into office of congress and senate have failed their states by not making it an issue to vote to extend the unemployment compensation. This is just another issue that does not affect them directly so it has been placed on the back burner for other things they believe to be more important. Of course those members of congress and the senate are not in fear of losing their homes, autos, or not having the ability to pay their utilities without that small weekly compensation.

I returned to college to get my degree and be a more productive employee, for which I was one of those that was laid off from the down fall of the construction industry on January 14, 2009. I have sent out over 689 resumes and job applications, had 178 interviews only to be told I am over qualified for the position I was applying. I also resulted to researching online income possibilities only to find 98% of those were scams. Now I continue to send out resumes and apply for jobs that I know I am qualified for and even looking to apply for jobs in foreign countries that would appreciate the education, experience, skills, and abilities I have to offer. But as of today, I am praying that the latest contact I have had for an accounts receivable position will contact me for an interview with a positive outcome.

This goes to show that I am only one example of what this country has become. Then there are those companies that base their hiring of employees on their credit score. Can you imagine how many of those 12,000+ people will not be hired because of their time of unemployment compensation did not cover all their debts and their credit scores dropped below what companies have as the minimum score they will hire with. I have only one question for all those companies, how does a credit scored measure the ability a person has to preform the duties of a position?

So if anyone knows of companies that are hiring, and could care less what their employees credit scores are but want quality employees, please let me know. There 12,000+ unemployed people on the gulf coast looking for work and most of them are welling to relocate for the opportunity to have a paycheck again.

Thank you and have a wonderful day.

Bringing Proof

To the current date, by applying myself and setting a course to accomplish what so many people thought I could have never bring completion to, I have achieved completion by acquiring my associate degree by November 2008, my bachelor degree by March 2010, and to have a full query to the diplomas that I hang on my wall will be my master degree that I will complete in August 2011. Sure that will add to my dusting but the time with my nose in the books and all the research of information and constructing papers, books, and coming to terms that I was so very wrong with just sliding through school back in the day.

I kick myself for not pushing myself and going after an education that I could have used all these years to make a difference that might have just been a positive action in someone else in their walk in life today. I am more intelligent than I ever gave myself credit for and I am so glad that I never ventured in politics because there are so many flaws in the government of the United States today that all of the public of this nation is only looking for someone to blame for all the wrong, but will not take a stand for their own eras.

As I see it the country was screwed by the Bush administration not just when Bush Sr. was in office but again when George W. went into office by as all politicians do Lying to America and as supporting public listened to his every word within those lies. Today, the country has a President that is not of "Texan" background of the "good ole boys" club, who is standing strong on improving life for ALL not just the suck ups that think men with brains come from Texas.

Being an American, I took a step back analyzed the techniques previous Presidents have taken to accomplish issues that would be in the better interest of the general public and all I found were issues that were positive for all those "good ole boys." Turn on the television today and all you can hear on the news is how everything going bad in this country is President Obama's fault. The facts that he is cleaning up the big MESS left behind by previous Presidents and because he is not kissing the behinds of all those "good ole boys" makes him having as one reporter stated low in the polls. The big question I have to ask is, "When in the world will any of those good ole boys going to be held accountable for all the MESS they created?" When as Americans do each of us stand up and say enough is enough and for once do something for the better of the country?

Immigration is totally out of control and the people of this nation wants to blame the President, when it was George W. Bush wanted to open the boards and now that there are more and more millions of illegals in OUR country claiming they are the backbone of our workforce. The fact is so many Americans would rather hide an illegal than to serve their country with pride to stand up to make those same illegals go back to their own country where if an American was caught there without proper papers would be jailed and no questions asked to either be transported back across the boarder to this country or detained in jail with no chance to see freedom again. So please tell me why are illegal immigrants allowed freedom in the United States and do not have to go through the same processes and treatment that any American would not be given elsewhere? Why do illegal immigrants be allowed to receive food stamps, rental assistance, and get on government assistance programs when so many born Americans are denied?

I have been unemployed since January 14, 2009, I have applied for 689 jobs in my local area, surrounding cities, opened to searching nationwide and the ironic point of it all is the one phrase I continually hear again and again, "I am to experienced, over qualified," and regardless of the fact that I want to work and I need a job to repay all of the student loans hanging over my head, I cannot get hired. I have 29 years working accounting, human resources management, general management, and let us not for get insurance sales, which by the way is one of the largest scams being ran in this country when it comes to health coverage. If you think I am wrong about that, you yourself need to do some serious research on how many people that filed a claim with their health insurance company over the last 10 years got their coverage canceled.

I bet you did not know that 8 out of every 10 people that filed a claim with their medical coverage company within the first 60 days of coverage were canceled, because somewhere in micro print that any claim filed in the first year would result in cancellation of coverage. Wow, and then you doubt the President for wanting health reform. I personally think it is about time the insurance companies be put on the chopping block to stop their scamming ways.

Have a nice day, and I can honestly say I have benefited by the research I have done and continue to do.

See you next time.

Didn't See That One Coming

If we all take every event in our life serious we would all be pushing up the most beautiful daisies you could ever imagine. At the age of 47 I returned to finish getting my college degree that I promised my Dad that I would when I was 22. I just never realized there were so many cobwebs in my attic that would have to be cleared in order to get those cogs for education turning again. Once they got to turning, I scared myself with the first "A" I made on an assignment. It was great, especially when I have two grown children that had to ask who I paid to do it for me. It was then and there the challenge was on, but in order to understand why my going after my degree was so important I have to back track a few years, OK a bunch of years.

You see I was the third child of three children in my family. My older sister was somewhat of a brainiack, my brother did not seem to ever have any kind of interest in classroom learning, which left me. I did not want to be like my sister, always studying all the time - boring, but I did not want to be in trouble all the time for not getting good grades either, so I did as little as possible to make average grades just to get me through and move on. Now if I would have applied myself back then as I should of, I realize how different things could have been for today.

I should have given more attention to Algebra, sentence structure, and public speaking life as a college student at the age of 47 would have been not quite so stressful. I found taking online classes worked well with my schedule of my work, family, and still having time for me. So I thought! I received an invitation to be apart of the advanced classes because of my past work experience, skills in the business field, and my ability to be very well organized. Without taking a second thought, since I did not take a first thought agreed to be in the advanced classes. This is where the gray hair started increasing at a much faster pace. My schedule changed from taking one course each session to taking two, no big deal right, think again. This meant that I would be taking two courses every 5 1/2 weeks. I would be taught the same amount of information in those short 5 1/2 weeks that students on a physical campus would be learning over the course of a full semester. What have I gotten myself into?

Think about it and more will come.
